About Ismail Bawa

Ismail Bawa’s story is one of resilience, growth, and a lifelong commitment to service.

Born in 1985 in the village of Mosali in Gujarat, India, Ismail came to Canada in 2003 as a young adult, stepping into a completely new environment. Without familiarity with the language or systems, he quickly learned that success would require hard work, adaptability, and persistence.

Like many newcomers, Ismail began his journey working entry-level jobs, facing challenges and setbacks along the way. After losing his first job due to limited experience, he made a defining decision to invest in his education and build a stronger foundation for the future.

To build a safe, united, and inclusive community where every resident feels heard, supported, and confident in their local leadership, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Mission

To serve with integrity, transparency, and accountability by staying present and engaged in the community. Drawing on my experience in public service, I will advocate for safer neighbourhoods, support youth and families, and champion local businesses to help them grow and succeed.

I will work closely with residents and business owners to address real, everyday concerns and create practical solutions that strengthen our community.

I am committed to making local leadership more accessible and responsive, with transparent decisions that are clear so people know their voice truly matters.
